Bushkabobs

Back in the Spring I was working with a knife for a review...at the same time a wilderness & Survival site that I am on the staff of had a cooking contest. I decided to use the contest as a chance to check out the knife. My family and I thought the project worked out nicely....I made Bushkabobs for dinner one evening and. They turned out pretty good too!

First I made the skewers from some hedge trees in the area.

Then I set up a wind brake around my fire and grilling area and laid the fire with split apple wood on bottom and then I got the fire going before I started prepping the food. The wood was damp so it didn’t burn too quick. I love the smell of apple wood burning.

This is the veggies I started with, some mushrooms, bell pepper, tomatoes, onion, and potatoes, and the skewers.

And then on the fire

Thirty-five minutes later…dinner time. I whittled out some chopsticks to eat with, my picky oldest even liked it lol.

Thank you Bernie, I'm glad you like it. I find it easier to get my daughter involved if I get more creative.
